Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston is the youngest of four kids born in Newark, the state of New Jersey, on August 9 in 1963. The parents of Whitney are gospel vocalists Cissy Houston - n e Emily Lee Drinkard - and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick was also an international singer. Whitney's mother and her began singing professionally in the church of New Hope Baptist, Newark in the year Whitney was just fifteen years old. They sang backing vocals on Chaka Kans' hit song from 1978 Im Every Woman. She went on to provide back vocals to Jermaine Jackson, Lou Rawls and her own mother and was briefly models on the cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. The year 1981 saw her begin working as a singer in the New York funk group Material. It is her vocal performances of high quality that attracted the attention of record label such as Arista. Whitney Houston became the top-selling debut record by a young artist in 1985. A number of songs from the album became hits, such as The Greatest Love of All and Saving All My Love. The album was sold out of 3 million copies in the first year of its release in US and went on to sell 25 million worldwide winning it the very first one of six Grammys. The Whitney album followed in 1987 and the singles What Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to expand on the popularity of her first album. It was, however the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her position as the top-selling artist. Even though her film's performance as well as the soundtrack did not go over well, her Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You as well as its accompanying album dominated the albums and singles charts across the world for months. The album sold over 44 million copies. In the same year, she got married to the former New Edition singer Bobby Brown with whom she had her only child their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in March 1993. About this time her well-documented substance abuse began and by 1996 she became a daily addict.

Dana Bash, also known by the name she was born under, Dana Ruth Schwartz, is a CNN political reporter and anchorwoman. She has produced a variety of weekend programs that the network airs, such as Evans & Novak Late Edition" as well as Inside Politics. She's worked at other renowned networks in recent times including NBC and CBS. Bash has been awarded numerous awards as well as being included in the Women in Washington Power List by Elle magazine. She is known to have remarkable anchoring skills and her reporting abilities are admired by young journalists. Personally, the graduate from George Washington University is a loving mother to her sole son. She has been married twice and is now single.
