Whitney Elizabeth Houston is the youngest of four kids born in Newark, the state of New Jersey, on August 9 in 1963. The parents of Whitney are gospel vocalists Cissy Houston - n e Emily Lee Drinkard - and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick was also an international singer.
